Greetings from the Snoqualmie Valley School District.
The 2007-08 school year has been both challenging and productive. Our students continue to excel; both in and out of the classroom. Student achievement throughout our school system is steadily improving as evidenced by their performance on state tests, district assessments, class assignments, projects, and activities. The accomplishments of our students in extracurricular and co-curricular activities continue to be a source of pride for our schools as well.
At this time of year, it is fitting that we reflect upon and recognize the contributions of parents and community patrons who support our schools and the students in them. This support manifests itself in many different shapes and forms. During the past school year, volunteers have been working in dedicated and enthusiastic fashion to support teachers and students. Through various fund-raising activities, well over $300,000 was donated to our schools during the past year, and over 44,000 hours of volunteer time logged in our schools. This impressive commitment on the part of parents and community patrons is a shining example of this community’s support for its schools. On behalf of the nearly 6000 students attending our schools, thank you.
The fundamental purpose of our schools is to ensure high levels of learning for every student. This is the ideal toward which we strive. While there will always be room for growth and improvement, the impressive accomplishments of our students should be a source of pride for our community. Outstanding schools provide the foundation upon which students have the opportunity to achieve their potentials and realize their dreams. Thank you for supporting our school during the past year.
Sincerely,
Joel Aune, Superintendent
